About Us

I completed beauty school just before my 21st birthday and began work at ‘Salon Salon’ in Vero Beach, Florida. I bought the salon before my 30th birthday and operated it for another 20 years. Lots of hard work and dedication to my clients are what made me a successful hair stylist and salon owner.

 

All was going well until I turned 45 and was diagnosed with breast cancer. I would have chemotherapy on Mondays and be back in the salon to take care of my client’s hair Tuesday through Saturday, even when all my own hair was gone! During my course of treatment, I had 19 rounds of chemo, 48 rounds of radiation, and multiple reconstructive surgeries! Some of the surgeries were botched, leading to more surgeries – twenty in all!! My son, Scott, was my saving grace that enabled me to get through it all.

 

When the Covid shutdowns hit in 2020, it was the last straw, and I closed Salon Salon after three decades of business and finally took the time I needed to heal. 2023 was my first year without surgery, and I pray there will be no more! Going through tough times definitely makes us stronger. I believe you have to have a sense of humor, and 90% of your recovery is all in the attitude.

 

Having told my story above, I am happy to report that I am healthy again and better than ever, which is why I am reopening Salon Salon in a new location at 57 Royal Palm Pointe. I look forward to seeing our returning and new clients. I’m overwhelmed with joy to be here and feel so blessed to be able to continue my journey in life and the beauty industry.
